AISORT Hyperspectral Sorter
Advanced spectral sorting platform for dark plastics, washed flake purification, food-grade preparation and subtle material discrimination tasks.
Overview
The AISORT Hyperspectral Sorter is designed for applications where conventional RGB or standard NIR recognition is not sufficient. By using richer spectral signatures, it improves the separation of dark plastics, washed flakes, trays, multilayer materials and contamination-sensitive recycled feedstocks.
Key Advantages
Advanced Spectral Resolution
Captures fine material differences that are difficult to distinguish with conventional optical systems.
Dark Plastic Capability
Improves recoverability of black and dark-colored plastics that challenge standard sensors.
Flake Purification
Supports high-value purification tasks after washing, grinding and hot-wash preparation.
Food-Grade Preparation
Useful in applications where contamination control is critical before pelletizing or extrusion.
High Material Sensitivity
Improves the detection of subtle composition changes, labels and heterostructures.
Flexible Integration
Can be positioned as a fine-sorting module after coarse recovery and washing stages.
Applications
- Washed PET, PP and HDPE flake purification.
- Dark plastic recovery and separation.
- Food-grade bottle-to-bottle and tray-to-tray preparation.
- Contamination control before pelletizing or advanced recycling.
How It Works
Conditioned Feed
Material is spread into a stable layer optimized for spectral capture.
Hyperspectral Scan
The system reads spectral signatures across multiple wavelengths to identify subtle differences.
Material Decision Engine
Classification logic combines spectral data and process settings to isolate accepted fractions.
Precision Sorting
Target and reject streams are separated for high-purity downstream processing.

Suitable materials and output targets
Best suited to purity-sensitive streams where richer spectral discrimination produces higher commercial value.
Washed PET and HDPE flakes
Refines post-wash output where contamination tolerance is low and downstream value is high.
Dark plastics
Improves identification and separation of black and dark-colored plastics that challenge conventional optics.
Food-grade preparation
Supports bottle-to-bottle and contamination-sensitive tray or flake workflows.
Complex multilayer fractions
Useful when subtle composition differences reduce the performance of basic single-sensor sorting.
Recommended solution paths
The hyperspectral platform is strongest where premium purification or difficult material discrimination changes downstream economics.
Bottle-to-Bottle Recycling
Supports contamination-sensitive purification before food-grade reprocessing.
